Built by a sufferer.
Backed by science.
GoutProtocol exists because the advice most people receive when diagnosed with gout is incomplete. This is the resource I wish had existed when I was first diagnosed.
Why I built
GoutProtocol.
I was 30 years old when gout first hit. Woke up convinced I had broken my toe in my sleep. I hadn’t. The doctor confirmed gout in about four minutes — handed me a prescription and a leaflet. Told me to avoid red meat and drink more water. Ten-minute appointment, sent on my way.
“Avoid red meat and drink more water.” Three years later I can tell you: that advice, while not wrong, barely scratches the surface of what actually causes gout — and what actually stops it.
I spent those years doing what you’re probably doing right now — reading everything I could find, testing remedies, tracking patterns, reading actual research papers instead of just the summaries. I found things that genuinely worked. I also found a lot of things that didn’t. And I found several major triggers that almost nobody in mainstream health media talks about at all.
The fructose connection. The vaping link. Why crash dieting makes gout worse. Why the pain isn’t caused by the crystals themselves — it’s your immune system attacking them. None of this was in the leaflet.
GoutProtocol is what I wish had existed on day one. Every claim is backed by published research. Every piece of advice has been personally tested. The goal is simple: give gout sufferers the clearest, most current picture of what’s actually happening — and exactly what to do about it.
- 5 years personal experience managing gout
- Synthesised 50+ peer-reviewed studies
- Tested every protocol personally before publishing
- Cites only primary research sources
- UK-based — advice covers NHS and US healthcare
- Always recommends working alongside your GP
Three principles.
Non-negotiable.
Evidence first
Every claim is backed by published, peer-reviewed research — cited so you can check it yourself. No anecdote without evidence, no remedy without data.
Plain English always
Medical research should be accessible. We translate the science into language anyone can understand and act on — without dumbing it down.
Honest about limits
We tell you what the evidence supports and what it doesn’t. No miracle cures. No overselling. Where the science is weak, we say so.
